“Le Chant” by Henri Matisse. 1938. Fireplace m “Le Chant” by Henri Matisse. 1938. Fireplace mural for Nelson Rockefeller. @museeorangerie 🍊

Measuring more than nine feet high and six feet wide, this painting came about as a commission from art collector Nelson Rockefeller as a mantlepiece for his wood-paneled Manhattan penthouse apartment.

Rockefeller gave Matisse free rein as to the subject, and the artist chose music as his theme. #henrimatisse #nelsonrockefeller #museedelorangerie photo by #artflyernet

Faith Ringgold 🖤💛❤️Black is Beautiful #f Faith Ringgold 🖤💛❤️Black is Beautiful #faithringgold @museepicassoparis photos by #artflyernet

Faith Ringgold is a major figure in American feminist art, from the civil rights struggles to those of Black Lives Matter, and the author of some very famous works in children’s literature. Her work links the rich heritage of the Harlem Renaissance to the current art of young black American artists. Through her rereadings of modern art history, she engages in a genuine plastic and critical dialogue with the Parisian art scene of the early 20th century, particularly with Picasso and his "Demoiselles d’Avignon". This exhibition is the first to bring together, in France, a group of major works by Faith Ringgold. It extends the retrospective devoted to her by the New Museum in early 2022 and is organized in collaboration with this New York institution.

This exhibition sheds light on Giacometti’s and This exhibition sheds light on Giacometti’s and Dali’s friendship as well as on their shared taste for the exploration of dreamed places.

For the first time, the Institut Giacometti presents a reconstruction of Giacometti's 1931 masterpiece, Project for a square, unveiled in the form of a large-scale installation. It was created while Giacometti and Dali were designing an extraordinary garden for the Viscount and Viscountess of Noailles.

This work illustrates the conception of the garden shared by Giacometti and Dalí, conceived as an illusory and fantasized space, and their taste for ambiguous forms and images.

Exceptional loans complete this original exhibition: major works by the Catalan painter such as The Spectral Cow @centrepompidou @museedartmodernedeparis The Memory of the Child-Woman @museoreinasofia and Woman with a Head of Roses @kunsthauszuerich echo the surrealist works of the Swiss sculptor.

Constantinos Doxiadis Informational Modernism: The Constantinos Doxiadis
Informational Modernism:
The machine at the heart of man curated by @farzinfarzin and #markwasiuta @onassis.stegi

Constantinos A. Doxiadis (1913–1975) was one of the most prolific and influential architects and urban planners of the postwar period. He regularly put forward proposals for the urban landscape of Greece, and distinguished himself through his outreach and work across four continents.

Constantinos Doxiadis was a man of many facets. A modernist who approached technology and craft as a means of bringing about prosperity for humankind, and for society as a whole.

According to his theory of ekistics, anthropos (the human individual) is the most important component of a city, one that – in combination with the other four elements (nature, society, shells, and networks) – leads to a city functioning harmoniously.

He was also, however, an architect open to the changes brought about by his times, while still retaining his admiration for the architectural space embodied by the ancient Greek “city”. At the Delos Eight Symposium, held in 1970, the participants had their eye on what was to come in future: “Information systems today have more power in social systems than ever because computers have magnified the capabilities of the human senses.”
