Anish Kapoor, one of the most influential sculptor Anish Kapoor, one of the most influential sculptors of his generation, is known for works that challenge space and perception through monumental, abstract and often illusory installations.

I first met Kapoor at the Gallerie dell’Accademia in 2022, during a major retrospective of his work. That same year, he opened his foundation and inaugural exhibition inside Palazzo Manfrin, the 16th-century Venetian landmark in Cannaregio.

Four years later, the second exhibition delights once again❗️

100 architectural models spanning five decades : sculpture, space and architecture.
Built and unbuilt projects sit side by side. The unrealised works feel just as alive as the realised ones.

“For a long time I’d been thinking of my work as potential architecture. I’ve always been convinced by the idea that to create new art you have to create new space.” Anish Kapoor

2,3 🇪🇸 Oriol Vilanova @oriolvilanova has spent more than twenty years collecting postcards from markets and second-hand shops. At the Spanish Pavilion, those found images become Los restos.

4,5 🇩🇰 Maja Malou Lyse turns the Danish Pavilion into something between a fertility clinic and a biotech startup waiting room.

6,7,8 🇫🇷 Yto Barrada @ytobarrada looks to Saturn the planet linked to solitude, discipline and deep thinking.

9 🇫🇮 Finland lets the wind make the music. Jenna Sutela’s Aeolian Suite gives control to nature itself.

10 🇩🇪 Henrike Naumann painted the German Pavilion in the pale mint green of abandoned Soviet military buildings in former East Germany, then filled it with curtains, furniture and everyday objects. The space feels more like a strange home than a monument.

11 🇷🇴 Anca Benera @beneraestefan and Arnold Estefán turn to the Black Sea and ask: how do we heal a damaged sea?

12 🇪🇬 Armen Agop @armen.agop creates a Pavilion of Silence inspired by the stillness and emptiness of the desert.

15 🇮🇳 Ranjani Shettar suspends a floating garden from the ceiling of the India Pavilion.

16 🇨🇱 Norton Maza @nortonmaza combines handmade scenes, sound and political images in a world shaped by migration, fake news and environmental collapse.

17 🇨🇦 Abbas Akhavan @abbasakhavan fills Canada’s pavilion with giant Victoria cruziana water lilies plants with a colonial history connected to the building around them.

18 🇬🇷 Andreas Angelidakis builds an Escape Room inspired by Plato’s cave.

19 🇸🇦 Dana Awartani @danaawartanistudio covers the floor of the Saudi Pavilion with handmade clay tiles based on patterns from damaged sites in Gaza, Syria and Palestine. Visitors walk around them, not on them.

20 🇧🇷 Adriana Varejão goes big: 12 ceiling paintings, 100 meters of wall installation and one ceramic vessel.

With Lee Ufan who is presenting a major exhibition With Lee Ufan who is presenting a major exhibition at @smac_venice @leeufanarles

A leading figure of both the Japanese Mono-ha movement and Korean Dansaekhwa, Lee Ufan is celebrated for transforming stone, steel and brushstrokes into meditative environments that invite contemplation and awareness.

Spanning eight galleries in the historic Procuratie at Piazza San Marco, the exhibition brings together paintings, large-scale installations and a new site-specific work.

Covering more than seven decades of practice, the presentation reflects the artist’s ongoing exploration of space, time and perception.

The Venice exhibition coincides with a parallel presentation at Dia Beacon, celebrating the artist’s extraordinary contribution to contemporary art ahead of his 90th birthday in June 2026.

Curated by #JessicaMorgan @diaartfoundation the landmark exhibition opens today!

The 61st International Art Exhibition of the Venic The 61st International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale 2026, In Minor Keys, opens this week across Venice‼️🇮🇹🇮🇹@labiennale

Curated by the late Koyo Kouoh, the exhibition brings together 110 artists, collectives, and cultural initiatives from around the world.

In music, minor keys evoke introspection, melancholy, tenderness and emotional depth. Kouoh uses this idea to imagine an exhibition that moves away from noise, speed and spectacle and instead turns toward collective care, poetry, memory and beauty

Don’t miss this remarkable exhibition, Tomorrow: Yes @thaddaeusropac ✨
A compressed school you can walk into.
A fully functional boat designed to bend.

Erwin Wurm fills the space with sculptures that make us think about our beliefs, our perception and the systems we carry.
Between Mind Bubbles and One Minute Sculptures, humour meets philosophy.
Absurd, precise, playful and deeply profound

I photographed and interviewed Erwin in Limberg in 2018.
Slide left for installation views in spring-like Paris and interview moments in snowy Limberg.

Never-before-seen material from “Martino Gamper: Never-before-seen material from “Martino Gamper: 100 Chairs in 100 Days – A Platonic Interpretation” (2013), the @thebenakimuseum ‘s first exhibition dedicated to design, curated by @artflyernet

@martinogamper built the “Niketino” chair live at the museum using found chairs, a process that was filmed and shown as part of the exhibition.

The curatorial framework drew on the Greek philosopher Plato and his Theory of Forms, embracing the idea that the perfect chair does not exist in the physical world, only infinite variations in its pursuit.

I could not have dreamed a more fitting closing ex I could not have dreamed a more fitting closing exhibition for this space, gathering 24 of the most compelling contemporary Greek voices, while at the same time honouring the legacy of Zissimos Lorenzatos, the writer and intellectual who once lived here.

I am grateful to all who visited, embraced and even composed their own poetry in dialogue with this project. The space has fulfilled its purpose, and I depart lighter than ever, carrying with me the lesson that Matsuo Bashō passed on to George Seferis, and in turn to Lorenzatos:

Not
“A dragonfly
remove its wings,
a pepper.”

But
“A pepper
add wings,
a dragonfly.”

With heartfelt thanks for the love and participation that animated this place 🤍
