“Apollo Wind Spinner” by @jeffkoons is a 9.1 m “Apollo Wind Spinner” by @jeffkoons is a 9.1 meter (30-foot) wide reflective wind spinner that greets people entering the port of #Hydra on one side and, on the other, welcomes people walking to the building housing the installation.

The face of the wind spinner is that of Greek god Apollo, god of the sun, light, music, truth, healing, poetry, and prophesy.

Known as the ideal of youth and athleticism, Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto.

Charles Ray’s Boy with Frog, 2009 gleaming white Charles Ray’s Boy with Frog, 2009 gleaming white and 8ft (2.5m) tall, had occupied the tip of a triangular piece of land that separates the Grand and the Giudecca canals in Venice for almost four years.

The statue, commissioned by French billionaire collector Francois Pinault, was however considered controversial by some city authorities and was replaced with a copy of a 19th-century lamp-post which used to stand on the spot.
