I could not have dreamed a more fitting closing ex I could not have dreamed a more fitting closing exhibition for this space, gathering 24 of the most compelling contemporary Greek voices, while at the same time honouring the legacy of Zissimos Lorenzatos, the writer and intellectual who once lived here.

I am grateful to all who visited, embraced and even composed their own poetry in dialogue with this project. The space has fulfilled its purpose, and I depart lighter than ever, carrying with me the lesson that Matsuo Bashō passed on to George Seferis, and in turn to Lorenzatos:

Not
“A dragonfly
remove its wings,
a pepper.”

But
“A pepper
add wings,
a dragonfly.”

With heartfelt thanks for the love and participation that animated this place 🤍

Our space is on holiday until August 22, but we’re still here to keep you company.

Until then: stay cool, sip something chilled, and let the sunsets (or sunrises) much like the art do the talking. 🌞🍹🌅

This sculpture made of steel by Alexandra Athanass This sculpture made of steel by Alexandra Athanassiades depicts three open books, capturing the interplay of material, light and time.

Swipe left to see the magic unfold ! as sunlight shifts, the word “illusion” slowly appears and drifts to the right, tracing the sun’s path across the sky. 🌞📚🌳

A reminder that nothing is fixed. What seems certain is always in motion. As Heraclitus said, “Everything flows.”

💙✨ Finally the Waves (2012) by Olga Alexopoul 💙✨ Finally the Waves (2012) by Olga Alexopoulou now on view at ARTFLYER.

Did you know the artist teamed up with top scientists at Berkeley Lab @berkeleylab to create a brand new color?

It’s called Quantum Blue, and it captures something no pigment ever could before: the glow of the blue hour, that fleeting moment just before sunrise or after sunset when the sky turns a luminous, almost otherworldly blue.

By using quantum dots (tiny particles that absorb UV light and fluoresce), Olga recreated the radiance she watched as a child on a beach in Greece… and turned it into paint.
